A seriously fun and well crafted class!
A series of strength based movements with a strong emphasis on muscle isolation and alignment. Core is defined in the course – as training the entire body’s ability to support the skeletal structure and connective tissue (ligaments, tendons, fascia).
Repetitious sit up’s will not strengthen the core or holding “plank” for a long time. Most people do not use the correct neuroskeletal and musculature structure needed to hold poses. Poses do not need to be held for long periods of time to activate the muscles – which in and of itself create strength.
Unless you are training for the Olympics…the goal in the class is to “turn on” muscles that get sluggish and even non responsive – to “wake up”. This is highly beneficial to keep the messengers strong from the brain to the muscle and the muscle to the brain.
Listen – when a muscle is not working other muscles and connective tissue – kick in the help out. They eventually cause you bones and other structural adaptations. This will will cause a series of problems. It’s just a matter of when.
